This March my boyfriend and I visited the beautiful island of Jamaica. For our vacation spot we chose Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort and Spa. The hotel itself and the food did not impress us much despite being a 4.5 start hotel. The food in the restaurants was pretty much the same as in the buffet so we opted to eat in the buffets instead. The room was bigger than in other Caribbean destination hotels we have visited: we had a small living area with a couch and a coffee table in our room and the bathroom had a shower and a Jacuzzi tub. The room was clean but kind of old.
Because the point of our vacations are to relax and get away from the everyday hassles, I enjoyed Jamaica very much. The top highlights of the trip was the perfect beach and water and the vibe of the staff and the country in general.
The best line of the week was: Jamaica no problem. We still often repeat that to ourselves when we get boggled down. Lying on the beach, skin tickled by the warmth of the sun, listening to the soft noise of the waives- that is what Jamaica is all about. No wonder all the staff at the hotel are so laid back and fun. Every evening, hosting games for the guests and jamming to the music, they repeat two things: Jamaica no problem and Ya mon. You can’t help but laugh every time they say that.
